8.10.2007 (FRIDAY)

It was a special day, we had done our banner and already handed in our assignments and it was FRIDAY! Friday means so many things to us, not the FRIDAY restaurant,
but it simply means weekend is here! But what is it so special about?
Well, Kuching Festival was around at that time, so it means we could go there and have fun at night! Alright, what else?

A cake? Why? Any celebrations? YES! Can’t you see what it had written on the surface? Sweet 18 Tharini! It was Tharini’s birthday. So, what did we do? Well, we had planned a wonderful surprise birthday party for her! You can consider the surprise birthday party as a lame one ‘cause she said she could guess it already (do you think so? Nah……). Our plan was so perfect, how could our dear Tharini get it?

Before this, let me explain a bit about our dear Tharini. Tharini is a tall and sweet girl who comes all the way from KL. I still remember the first day, I met her mum, oh she is very kind and friendly – Mrs Manoharan. Ooops, did I just say out Tharini’s full name? Hm… I think she won’t mind as she is a very considerate person. Her mum always send goodies to her like pineapple tart and gardenia bread! Haha, we all love Tharini so much, if u got this chance to visit this girls’ hostel then u will hear gossiping voices from the edge of the first floor especially the last three rooms. You will hear non stop laughing voices talking about THA-RINI. Well, I been there a few times and enjoyed a lot. I started to feel that I should not always hang out downstairs….oh no, did I just mention which floor im staying? Ok, no offense to Tharini, she is generous, I can always get gardenia bread from her and sugar from Zatul, her roommate. Even though she…haih…did I say I will only talk a bit? But quite a lot of crap ya.

Hm… I am writing out of topic already. Ok get back to the celebration story. Ohya, on that early morning, we all agreed to pretend not interested to talk to her and not even one of us wanted to wish her Happy Bday! Yea, we were so cruel… We even told other class people to keep this secret. After the class ends, we could see her eyes were rolling with tears (haha, ok, maybe not), our baby looked so upset for the whole day. From the afternoon till evening, no one wanted to ask her out. She just stayed in her room all alone. Whereas, some of us went to Kuching Festival and some went Satok, and one more secretly went to buy her birthday cake. Who was the secret one? It’s Sri Aman girl, Nana! High responsibility on her!

At 8pm sharp, everyone gathered at koperasi except for our Miss Tharini. We switched off the lights and quietly awaiting our Miss Tharini arrived. But how could she come if no one told her? So we let Jordan to announce that we had an urgent meeting at koperasi. And then we sang ~Happy bday to u….~ And did she feel touched and cry? I don’t know… hehe.

Yeah, posing while cuttin the cake... (wad on earth is bonnie smilin at d back ther, waiting to cut the cake also ka?)

Ammmmmm...yummy!

Can u see the balloon up there? A gift from us to Tharini, specially brought back from Kch Fest!!!

Afternoon, In Block D Hostel, Room D. XX,

Tharini: Mommy, I feel so sad, no one remembers my bday, I feel so lonely this year, it’s my 18th bday! How could it be like this? I feel so exhausted here, I wana go back to KL!!! I wana go shopping and celebrate my sweet 18!

Evening, In Block D Hostel, Room D. XX

Tharini: Where is everyone? (lonely…im miss lonely…)

8pm, Koperasi

Tharini: ???

12am, In Block D Hostel, Room D. XX

Tharini: Wahaha, my SWEETEST 18!

Okay, these monologues are what I think; maybe part of them is true, so it is still believable, am I right, Tharini?
